Superintendent Warren Drake reported the open house and ribbon cutting ceremony, held Sept. 7, was a success.
"It went very well, I'm please with the attendance. We welcomed about 250 people who came out to show their support," Drake said.
Drake also said a groundbreaking ceremony for the district's new 9th Grade Academy will be held in the next few weeks. (The Zachary Plainsman will announce the details as soon as they are determined.)
Members of the Zachary Boys Scouts Troop 472 recently celebrated 100 years of Boys Scouts by participating in a pre-Jamboree tour of Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
Josh Gathright gave a power point before the Board on the Troop's experience and ZCSB member David Dayton presented them with a certificate.
Also on the agenda, the Board approved additional work on their contract with Myles, Cook and Day law firm.
In October, the contract will list Myles, Cook and Day as special counsel on some additional work that would include significant personnel, litigation, land acquisition and special contract matters.
Agenda items for the Sept. 23 ZCSB meeting include science teacher presentations and policies.
