The East Baton Rouge Parish Farm Bureau is having its annual meeting on Thursday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Baker Municipal Building located at 3325 Groom Road. A dinner

will follow the meeting at 6:30 p.m., along with a talent contest and queens pageant. All EBRP members are invited to attend.

The Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general farm organization representing farmers, ranchers and rural residents. LFBF is a private, non-profit, non-governmental agency established in 1922 to bring a voice to agricultural issues.

Every parish is required by the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation to hold an annual meeting and invite all its members. The EBRP Farm Bureau has approximately 4,750 members.

At the annual meeting, the parish board of directors is elected and the board reports to the membership on its financial state.

Additionally, the parish queen is presented to the members and there is a talent contest. The winners will advance to the state competition in New Orleans where the Louisiana Farm Bureau Convention will be held in June 2010.
