Casey Danielle Engels of Zachary and John D. “Trey” Thompson, III of Central were married in a 7 p.m. ceremony on May 1, 2009, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. The Rev. Paul A. McDuffie officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Randy and Sherri Engels of Zachary. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Moffett and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Engels, all of Zachary.

The bridegroom is the son of Johnny and Connie Thompson of Central. He is the grandson of Cecile Thompson of Baton Rouge and the late John D. Thompson, Sr. and Eva Farrar of Clinton and the late Glen D. Farrar.

The bride was attended by her maid of honor, Jessica Boudreaux, and matron of honor, Karen Phillips. Bridesmaids were: Tamron Allen, Ashli Bonfiglio, Aimee Delouise, Brittany Everett, Tara Farmer and Lisa Hawkins. Flower girl was Kiley Phillips.

The bridegroom was attended by his best man, Barry Barrett. Groomsmen were: Renn Engels, Robert Farmer, Luke Martin, Josh Morgan, Brad Thibodeaux, Jay Watson and Mike Zeitler. Ring bearers were Aiden Farmer and Landon Walls. Ushers were Matt Martel and Jimmy Moffett, Jr.

Readers were Anna Guilbeau and Tommy Engels. Eucharistic Ministers were Terri Bonfiglio and Georgiana Walls. Gift bearers were Georgiana Walls and Peggy Watson. The altar server was Caleb Walls. Vocalist was Mary Catherine Beadle.

A reception took place at Reflections. Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Zachary.
