On Wednesday, November 12th, the Vermilion Parish Library joins thousands in celebrating the first annual National Gaming Day @ your library. Like so many other libraries across the country, the Vermilion Parish Library will offer a program for teens, ages 10 to 17, that includes board and video games.

Registration is required!

“Gaming is yet another example of how libraries are becoming more than just educational resources for the communities that they serve. They are also places where users of all ages are welcome to have fun together.” says Director, Jackie Choate.

At 5:30 p.m. in the Abbeville Branch, teens are invited to play board games and video games including Rock Star, Guitar Hero, Mario Kart, and more. To register for this program or for more information on other programs available, call the Abbeville Branch at (337) 893-2674.

National Gaming Day @ your library is a national initiative supported by the American Library Association, and 2008 sponsors Hasbro, Top Trumps and Wizards of the Coast. For more information on National Gaming Day please visit www.ala.org.
