Originally scheduled for a 4 p.m. kickoff and for national broadcast on ESPN, the game time was changed due to predicted worsening conditions in advance of what most likely will be Hurricane Gustav.
ESPN's will carry the game over ESPN Classic, officials said.
LSU officials said Tiger Stadium will open at 8 a.m.
Gustav's path remains uncertain but the entire northern Gulf of Mexico coast and environs is in its five-day cone of projected landfall.
According to LSU officials, the LSU GameDay! pregame show will begin as scheduled at 8 a.m. from the in-stadium studio and NOT Tiger One Village .
There will be no pregame activities in Tiger One Village (band, pregame radio show, etc.)
No football-related activities will be held in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Tiger Athletic Foundation, LSU Sports Properties and L-Club parties that are usually held in the Maravich Center on football game days have been cancelled for Saturday.
The Alumni Band function there has been cancelled and the arena will not be available for use as an escape from the heat for fans to watch the game on video screens as previously announced.
