The event is free and will feature screenings for ankle brachial index (ABI). These simple, painless screenings test the blood flow in the legs to determine risk for heart disease.
Screening results will be available on site, and CIS cardiologists will be available to answer questions and provide risk assessments.
The event will also include hors d’oeuvres and red wine sampling. This is an opportunity for women to relax and unwind while monitoring their health at the same time.
Heart disease is the number one killer of American women. These free screenings and presentations are provided to encourage the women of Baton Rouge to learn the risk factors of heart disease and what steps are needed to reduce them. Adapting a heart-healthy lifestyle and receiving appropriate medical care can help prevent cardiovascular disease. If you experience pain in your legs such as cramping or swelling, consult a doctor about your risk.
To RSVP for the screening, or to learn more, please call CIS at 225-308-2247 or toll free at 1-855-437-0247.
