Raffle-winner Emma Grace Marangos, 8, got to pal around with Zachary Mayor David Amrhein on Wednesday, May 9, for a stint as Mayor for a Day.

The prize was won at a recent auction held during a Zachary school fundraiser. Emma's mom, Jennifer, said Emma was the highest bidder among several other participants.

During her brief "tenure" as mayor, the Zachary Elementary School 2nd-grader got to visit the Zachary Fire Department and ride in a firetruck.

She also visited a pet store and toured City Hall with Mayor Amrhein. "It was really fun," Marangos said. "Everyone was really nice, and I had a great time."
