The Dr. Martin Luther King Zachary Committee held its annual MLK Scholarship Ball on Jan. 21 at the Baker Municipal Building. The event was a huge success.

This year's theme was "People of Color: Everyday People Dancing to Music."

Johnnie Evans and Joann Sanders were the co-chairs for the event, and Sharon McKnight and Fred West III are the chairpersons for the MLK Zachary Committee.

Lillie Young was the Queen for the 2011 MLK Ball. The Humanitarian Award went to Tina Clark, and Michael Brown received the Most Improved Award.

McKnight and West were honored at the event when they each received an Appreciation Award from the group.
