Retired principal

DELCAMBRE – Services for long-time teacher and principla Pershing Cashen, Sr. will be Saturday. He died Feb. 9 at age 93.

A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was former principal at Live Oak High in New Iberia and Delcambre High (14 years).

Survivors include a son and two daughters.

Arrangements are by Evangeline.

State Police organizer

ALEXANDRIA – Services for Robert Rigby, Jr., who helped formed the Louisiana State Troopers Assn., will be Saturday. He died Feb. 8 at age 70.

In addition to being a retired state trooper, he was a former Alexandria policeman and Rapides Sheriff’s deputy. He was active in scouting and youth baseball organizations and was a football referee.

Survivors include his wife Elia and four children.
