ZHS head softball coach Leslie Efferson said although Fisher had not played much softball prior to playing for the Lady Broncos, she stuck with the hard work to earn a full two-year scholarship.
"We're very proud of her and really appreciate her," said Efferson.
Efferson and Assistant Coach Robbie Yellott put together a video of Fisher showcasing her skills and sent it out to over 100 colleges and universities. Hinds' head softball coach Mike Grzanich responded to the tape and sought Fisher out.
Fisher then competed with another outfielder from Ouachita State for the scholarship because it wasn't going to be split. "It was a nerve-wracking few days," Efferson said. "But her skills won her that scholarship, and she earned her right to play for Hinds."
Coach Grzanich was also on hand to support Fisher at her signing ceremony, as were her family, teammates, coaches and ZHS and school district personnel.
