A loving father and grandfather, a 20-year employee of AT&T, and a resident of Zachary, he died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at age 41. He was a 1988 graduate of Zachary High School. For 10 years, he coached girls' softball and was the owner of the LA Heat Girls Softball Tournament Team, which competed locally, regionally and nationally. He is survived by four daughters, Alisha Renee Davis, Ashley Nicole Davis, Jordan "Jay" Michelle Davis and Courtney Danielle Davis; granddaughter Bryleigh Jade Thompson; fiancé, Laranda Wilson and her daughter, Ashlyn Wilson; parents, James Dale Davis Sr. and Esther Davis, all of Zachary; sister and brother-in-law, Toni and Marcus Martinez, of Zachary; and brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Shan Davis, of Brandon, Miss. Visitation at First Baptist Church of Zachary on Friday, July 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the church on Saturday, July 2, from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m., conducted by Dr. Wayne Barnes and Dr. Reggie Bridges. Burial at Azalea Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Monroe, Stephen "Bubba" Davis, J.C. Fresina, Danny Pierce, Danny Metcalf, Mike Ard, Bryan Addington and Joel Thames.
