On June 24, Baker Police arrested a woman accused of misappropriating and taking funds from an elderly man, said Baker Police Chief Mike Knaps on Wednesday.

Detectives with Baker's Criminal Investigation Division arrested Tramaine Pollard, 28, of 7416 Dan St. in Baton Rouge, after it was discovered that funds and property had been taken from the residence of a 62-year-old-man while he had been incapacitated in the hospital.

Knaps said that while conducting their investigation, Pollard turned herself into authorities after receiving word that police were searching for her. Property missing from the home of the elderly victim was recovered the same day as the arrest.

Pollard was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with exploitation of the infirmed, illegal possession of stolen things, theft of assets from an aged person and three counts of unauthorized use of an access card.
