The team's winning score of 308 bested 18 other teams with the closest competitor, Catholic High School, finishing five strokes behind with a score of 313.
The Broncos were led by sophomore Peyton McCulloch, who tied for overall first place with a score of 75; junior Drew Patin shot 76; sophomore Bryce Bonin shot 78; senior Zach Holley shot 79; and sophomore Jonathan Davis shot 80.
The Broncos also competed in the state tournament May 3-4 in Alexandria at Links on the Bayou and finished sixth. McCulloch tied for eighth overall.
"The players had to deal with a very wintery May the first day of the tournament with temperatures in the 50s and 20 m.p.h. gusts of wind," said head golf coach Clark Engeman. "But they rebounded on day two to jump three teams on the way to a sixth place finish. I'm very proud of our program and look forward to what the future of Zachary golf holds."
