The East Baton Rouge School Drug Task Force arrested a seventh grade Parkview Baptist student Monday, Feb. 14, for bringing a gun to school. Parkview Baptist is located at 5750 Parkview Church Road in Baton Rouge.

School administrators were advised that a 13-year-old student brought a gun to school, and upon searching the student's book sack, a .380 firearm was discovered. The gun was not loaded nor did the student have any ammunition.

It was determined the gun was taken in a burglary, and the student was charged with aggravated burglary, felony theft, carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon by a student on school campus and illegal possession of a handgun by a Juvenile.

The juvenile will be placed in juvenile detention.
