Civic and social organizations then:

A total of 17 civic and social organizations have been formed by the people of Zachary. Meetings are held regularly, and banquets and parties occur throughout the year.

Many of the organizations are active in charity and also work with city officials on various municipal projects.

Organizations included: Anna Mae Sullivan Extension Homemakers Club, 55 Plus Club, Matron's Aid Club, Plains Masonic Lodge 135, Plains Music Study Club, Portfolio Book Study Club, Society d'Elude Book Club, Town and Country Reviews Book Club, Zachary Art Guild, Zachary Business and Professional Women, Zachary Coin Club, Zachary Community Civic Organization, Zachary Jaycees, Zachary Jaynes, Zachary Lion's Club, Zachary Men's Club and Zachary Rotary Club.

Civic and social organizations now:

Today, the City of Zachary boasts many civic organizations and social clubs covering a variety of topics. All include some of Zachary's finest residents. Fundraisers, charity events, and silent auctions are held to support the less fortunate, and donations are made to schools, churches, food pantries, senior centers and more to assist in funding many projects throughout the community.

Clubs include: Rotary, Kiwanis, Lion's Club, Plains Masonic Lodge, Phenomenal Women, Professional Women of Zachary, Zachary Artist Guild, Zachary Men's Club, Zachary Area French Preservation Club, Zachary Newcomer's Club, AARP Chapter, Council on Aging, Interact, Town and Country Book Reviewer's Club.
