Pro Power, the outdoor superstore, is located 12519 Airline Hwy. and is the larger sister store to the 8326 Hooper Rd. location.

However, what many of Pro Power's customers do not know is that the Hooper Road location carries just as much equipment, accessories and parts, and is just as fast on service, than it's larger counterpart.

Charles Hebert, owner/operator, and his partner Pat Byrne, bought the former B&B Pro Power company in 2010 and renamed it simply, Pro Power. "The company we purchased had been around about 28 years," said Charles Hebert. "We offer the same great service, only now it's under new management."

Hebert said Pro Power is a service center for Briggs+Stratton, Kohler, Kawasaki and Honda, and Pro Power certified mechanics will also work on any brand of motor.

Pro Power carries Scag, Ferris, Dixie Chopper, Hustler, Bad Boy and Toro lawnmowers, as well as Red Max and Stihl brand trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, brushcutters and just about any kind of hand-held lawn and landscape equipment you can think of.

"What many people don't know is that we're more than just a lawn mower company," Hebert said. "Much, much more. We also sell all the parts and accessories for our mowers and trimmers."

In addition, Pro Power sells a line of aluminum trailers, as well as Pro-Pull products along with a line of weed killers such as Ranger Pro, Aqua Neat and Tall Star. Suspend, a brand of insecticides for killing ants and fleas, is also sold there.

Other items sold at the Hooper Road location include pressure washers, trash and irrigation pumps, used golf carts, ATVS, mules and 2-4-wheel drive electric or gas vehicles and the High-Lifter brand of ATV accessories, cures and rims, as well as stereos, snorkel equipment and lift kits are all sold at Pro Power.

"We're bringing new products in all the time based on our customers' needs and requests," said Hebert. "Anything to do with the outdoors, lawn equipment and recreational vehicles and equipment, we carry it."

In total, Pro Power employs about 20 people, and Hebert says he and Byrne are considering expanding and buying another location.

Hours of operation for the 8326 Hooper Road location are 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
