James Perry, 93, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Tangi-Pines Nursing Home in Amite. He was born December 19, 1915 in Mohawk, Tenn. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, then worked in the lumber industry for International Paper and Georgia Pacific in Arkansas and Louisiana.

Graveside services were held in Amite Memorial Garden. Services were conducted by Rev. Mike Foster.

He is survived by his daughter, Annette Underwood, Clarksville, Ark.; son, Gary W. Perry and his wife, Sondra, Amite; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Delora Perry; two brothers and a sister; granddaughter, Kathy Underwood; son-in-law, Dr. Clyde Underwood. ]McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.
