Ms. McKowen graduated cum laude from Louisiana State University and is now pursuing a Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Alabama - Birmingham.
Mr. Collins is currently pursuing a career in the mechanical engineering field.
A June wedding is planned at Plains Presbyterian Church in Zachary.
Following the wedding, the couple will reside in Birmingham.
