Dear Editor:

I, like many who have written, am very disturbed by our “official” newspaper for the Richland Parish Police Jury. Several months ago LSN provided an editorial to the newspaper requesting us to contact Governor Blanco to petition a release for former Governor Edwin Edwards. I wrote a letter at that time, letting our newspaper know that their job is to report news, and not try to brainwash the people who provide monies to keep this paper alive. Apparently the Richland Beacon’s parent company, LSN, does not have the foresight to keep their opinions of our Government to themselves and can’t see that we are intelligent enough to have our opinions, but not publish them on the front page.

Mr. Riser is doing a good job with this paper. The Board of Directors are the ones who let these prejudicial editorials have their place on our front page. They should have the forethought to publish the news, not their biased opinions. Please publish only the news and keep your opinions to yourself!
