Good day. I am a visitor to this area, coming here every other week to visit a key industrial customer. I’m spending money at a hotel in Zachary, eating at restaurants off of route 19, getting gas, donuts and supplies at local places, using the BTR airport rental car company and overall supporting your local economy.
The reason for my letter----your side-of-the-road speed monitors. I’m told that these units are mobile and moved around as needed.
With speed limits that range from 45 to 65 in a few short miles, your route 19 is a speed trap and nothing but a speed trap. It is ridiculous, and Baker should be ashamed of itself for implementing a system like this.
I appreciate that you have signs coming into Baker that say Speed Photo Enforced, or something like that, but there is no warning that your speed trap is coming.
I am driving through here in a different rental car every other week and would have no idea what those units on the side of the road are.
Furthermore, is it also possible, in effect, to get several tickets driving through the area at one time?
I bet you would send me a nice little present via mail for $150 or more for each one.
Come on, get rid of those ridiculous speed traps!
You sure don’t look ‘friendly’ to an outsider visiting and supporting your area!
Sincerely,
Greg K
