Dear Editor,
My name is Delores Wells and I am grateful for places like the Council on Aging Centers in Pontchartrain Park and other communities. I frequent the center at least 3-4 times per week to use their Internet even though I have dial-up at home. Having some place to go to access high speed Internet makes me even more appreciative of the advances being made in technology today.
Broadband expansion and access are a very important part of our world and everyone should have a chance to use this wonderful technology.
With Internet access, I am able to communicate with my son and extended family who are out of the area on a regular basis. It is so easy to keep in touch with everyone through technology and through email we are afforded the ability to respond and send on our own time. I feel very fortunate that the center is able to help me keep in touch with the world.
The center in Pontchartrain Park is just a small example of technology access that helps a part of the community. Broadband expansion to all areas of the state would be the best attainment so that those not fortunate enough to have a center to go to could still get access through their home if they so choose. I am a firm believer that there should be broadband access for all!
Sincerely,
Delores Wells
