Eighth-grader brings loaded handgun to EBRP's Glasgow Middle

A deputy with the School Drug Task Force responded Monday morning, Feb. 27, to a call concerning a gun brought to Glasgow Middle School, 1676 Glasgow Avenue in Baton Rouge off Lee Drive about 11:42 a.m.

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, an anonymous student reported the gun to the school's administration. A 6mm/35 handgun was found in the student’s pocket loaded with one bullet.

Deputies will charge the 15-year-old 8th-grader with carrying of a firearm by a student on school property and he will be booked into Juvenile Detention.

This investigation is ongoing, said EBRSO.
