Long-time priest

HOUMA – Services for long-time priest the Rev. Hubert Broussard will be Friday. He died Feb. 5 at age 87.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the World War II European theater and was ordained in 1952. He pastored churches in Gonzales, Morgan City and New Orleans before being appointed administrator of st. Mary Magdalen in Metairie.

He was later pastored in Barataria, Houma and Thibodaux and was chaplain at Terrebone General Hospital.

He served on the Houma-Thibodaux Diocesan tribunal for 15 years, mostly as one of the judges.

Survivors include two brothers.

Arrangements are by Landry’s.

Druggist

MANSURA – Services for druggist and civic leader Leonard Neyland will be Friday. He died Feb. 8 at age 62.

Neyland owned Mansura Drug Store for 28 years and was past president of the Chamber of Commerce and the Lions and was active in a number of other organizations.

Survivors include his wife, Linda, two sons and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Hixson Bros., Marksville.
