Ballet Magnificat! performs at Southwest Community College, other arts activities announced

Ballet Magnificat! will perform “The Arrival” and “Ruth” on Thursday, March 22, at 7 p.m. in the Hurst Auditorium at Southwest MS Community College. Admission is $20 for the general public and $10 for SMCC students.

Tickets are available at the following locations: Amite County Farm Bureau-Liberty; Dazzlin’ Dancewear-Brookhaven & McComb; Frolic-Summit; Holmes Stationers-Summit; Justin Stoll State Farm-Tylertown; and Main Street Market-Woodville. This is an SMCC Foundation Community Arts Series event.

Southwest’s Student Government Association is sponsoring Southwest’s Got Talent on Thursday, March 29, 7 p.m. in the Hurst Auditorium at the Fine Arts Building.

Auditions will be held on March 3 beginning at 8 a.m. in the Holmes Student Union Auditorium (sign up for audition time when turning in application at Student Services Office). Applications can be picked up at the SMCC Student Services Office or on the SMCC website at www.smcc.edu under the student services link. There is a $25 entry fee.

Applications and entry fee are due to the Student Services Office by Tuesday, Feb. 28.

*Must be a junior/senior in high school or an active student at SMCC. Winner earns a $1,000 scholarship to SMCC and will advance to the Mid-South State Fair Competition in Memphis this summer.
