Fire departments issue safety tips to survive cold weather
As winter weather temperatures blasted the area last week, local fire departments were prompted to issue tips to keep you and your family safe this winter season.
From protecting your pipes to keeping your family safe to fire-proofing your home, the Zachary and Baker Fire Departments and LSU Ag Center have issued the following safety measuresto help you survive the winter season.

The Chaneyville Fire Department is working to prepare the community for the 2009 hurricane season. "The fact that a hurricane can be very destructive, preparing now is the smart thing to do," said CFD Fire Chief Mark Strickland. "Hurricane season is upon us and making sure everyone is safe and that our community returns to normal as soon as possible after a storm is a top priority for us at the Chaneyville Fire Department."
Citizens can assist the CFD and first responders by taking a few universally recommended precautions.
