Shonda Finister, 43, Zachary, theft by shoplifting.&lt;br /&gt;
Teresa Johnson, 44, Baton Rouge, theft by shoplifting.&lt;br /&gt;

Kyle Cormier, 17, Baker, simple assault.&lt;br /&gt;
Yolanda Stewart, 54, Baker, possession of schedule II (cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia.&lt;br /&gt;
Lawrence Dunford, 52, Baker, possession of schedule II (cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Zachary council debates Baton Rouge tax proposal</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Zachary Mayor Henry Martinez and Councilmen Melvin Riley, Randy Bouley, John Coghlan, Francis Nezianya, and Dan Wallis met Aug. 25 regarding several issues concerning the tax proposal of Mayor Kip Holden.&lt;br /&gt;
Councilman Riley expressed concerns for Holden’s plan which would increase taxes for the City of Zachary  and said that Zachary residents may have issues approving these additional taxes when it only concerns Baton Rouge.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>ZPD prepares  for warrant round up</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Zachary Police Department along with the Zachary City Clerk of Court’s office is joining forces to eliminate the exorbitant amount of warrants that have accumulated in the City of Zachary.&lt;br /&gt;
Zachary Police Chief John Herty warns that anyone who may have a bench warrant out for their arrest should contact the Clerk of Court office to take care of any outstanding matters that may exist.&lt;br /&gt;
“We are trying to clear the books before the end of the year,” said Herty.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Alex Bonds is K-9 Handler of the Year</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Alex Bonds of the Zachary Police Department was recently recognized by the Louisiana Narcotics Officers Assoc. as K-9 Handler of the Year at an annual conference in New Orleans.&lt;br /&gt;
Bonds and his K-9, Thor, have trained two new K-9 officers at the ZPD, Shane White and Brian Morris. White’s K-9 is Ruckus and Morris’s K-9 is Bishop.&lt;br /&gt;
Bonds, who also trains other K-9’s in the area, put together lesson plans, built obstacle courses, and trained for many months to get the handlers and the K-9s certified for the United States Police Canine Association Reg. 10 Nationals that were recently held.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Railroad Rage Repaired </title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;A section of Main Street in Zachary was shut down recently as crews from CN Construction Company, operated by Illinois Central Railroad Company, worked to repair a pothole at the railroad crossing between Subway and the Zachary Fire Department. The street hazard had become damaging to vehicles. Zachary Police Department assisted in re-routing traffic throughout the City of Zachary while the repair work took place. Chris Davezac, Executive Director of Public Works &amp;amp; Utilities, said he has tried for months to get this section of the roadway fixed.&lt;/p&gt;
