Saints sweep Eagles in District 7-3A action

It was nearly a perfect week for West Feliciana High School on the basketball court. Earlier in the week the Saints had faced Jackson High with the girl’s team winning and the boy’s losing by one point.
The same story would hold true later in the week as the Saints would be in another one point thriller but this time they would be on the winning side against district foe Parkview. While in the girl’s game the Saints dominated once again.
West Feliciana earned a sweep over Parkview Baptist with the Saints taking a 62-36 win in the girl’s game and the Saints edging the Eagles 37-36 in the boy’s game. Like in their first game of the week the girl’s ran their competition off the court.
The Saints led 15-12 at the end of the first but then turned up the heat on Parkview and pulled away with a huge 23-8 run in the second quarter to take control of the game and lead 38-20 at halftime.
Britney Washington picked up where she left off after the Saints win over Jackson as she was the game’s high scorer with 24 points. Maddie Trisler finished with 12 while Calandria Allen added 11 points in the Saints big win.
The Saints dominated the second and third quarters as they scored 40 points and the Lady Eagles were held to just ten over those two quarters. Parkview did end the game on a 14-7 run but by that time the game was well over with.
The nightcap would feature a low scoring close game that had the Saints coming out on top 37-36. West Feliciana built a 26-19 run and then held on in the fourth as the Eagles surged with a 17-11 run to close the game.
Dorian Temple led the Saints with ten points and Destin Dawson added seven and Deshawn Morrison and Kenneth Davis both scored six points each.
