Operation Haiti: Adoption of a child
STACY GILL
Zachary resident Donna Butler has a really big heart. A big heart with lots of love to share. In fact, Butler shares her heart and her home with her husband Ivy, aka Daddy Man, two biological children, her three nieces and two other children - all who have been adopted by the Butlers.
Their outpouring of love doesn't end there, however, since Butler and her husband are trying to adopt a child from Haiti. A process that is extremely difficult, she says, but she, Ivy and all their children are determined to bring home another child to care for and to love.
"After the first newscasts reported the devastation in Haiti, we all kind of looked at each other...and we knew instantly, it was something we all felt. We're on a mission. We don't have a lot of money, but as a family, we were all in agreement - we want to adopt a child from Haiti," said Butler.
