LIVINGSTON – An allegedly drunk driver's passenger was killed when their vehicle left the road, struck a culvert and rolled over shortly after 12 a.m. Thursday.

18-wheeler overturns in Pride

Pride and Chaneyville Fire Departments, along with La. State Troopers, responded to the scene of an accident yesterday afternoon on Hwy. 64 in Pride.
On Tuesday, Feb. 23, the driver of a Peterbilt 18-wheeler, Frank Sagnibene, of Amite, said he was driving east on Hwy. 64 at approximately 1:30 p.m. when he lost control of his truck and rolled into a ditch.
Sagnibene said he tried to regain control of the vehicle, instead he travelled approximately 60 feet in a ditch before overturning the big rig.

K-9 Field Trials slated for Mar. 26 - 30

The United States Police Canine Association, Region 10 2010 Field trials will be hosted by the Zachary Police Department. The date of the trials is Mar. 26 - 30 and will be held at Zachary High School.
The USPCA is the largest and oldest active organization of its kind. The USPCA is “Ever Striving for the Betterment of all Police K-9”. USPCA Region 10 consists of two states - Louisiana and Arkansas. The Field Trials are held every year for members of USPCA Region 10 to certify with their Police K-9 showing proficiency in several areas that a Police K-9 is utilized.

Baker High student arrested for assault on teacher

Police have arrested a Baker High School student for allegedly attacking a school administrator on Monday, Feb. 22.
Booking records indicate Brandon Scott, 18, of Baker, was charged with assault on a schoolteacher and disturbing the peace, and was then booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Authorities said Scott was taken into custody by the police officer assigned to the school after he lunged at a school administrator and tried to hit him.
Scott was upset after he was told he would be suspended for 10 days for fighting, authorities said.

Helen Palmer, 54, Baton Rouge, four counts obtaining controlled dangerous substance by fraud, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute schedule II, possession with intent to distribute schedule IV.
Brandon McAllister, 25, Zachary, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of firearm while in possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana.

Ruth Watkins, 29, Baton Rouge, possession of Schedule II (Hydrocodone), possession of Schedule I (Marijuana), possession of controlled dangerous substance in presence of minors, two headlights required, child restraint violation.
Michael D. Lake, 28, Baker, bench warrants for failure to appear for sale/possession of a controlled dangerous substance, safety belt violation.
